Running: January 23rd - :new:June 1st
Event Type: Mixed English
Class/Classes: Hunter Under Saddle, Hunter Over Fences, Dressage, Cross Country, Jumping, Halter, Gymkhana
Restrictions: Ponies and riders under 18 only!

Looking for sponsors/donations for prizes! Judge is needed for the Gymkhana class/to sort that class out for me. Wafflepaws is the Gymkhana judge!!

Show Rules

1. HARPG registration is not necessary, independent stables are welcome too!
2. Pre-registration isn't required but will get you a bonus point.
3. Ponies only, this is a PONY show and nothing else will be admitted.
4. Riders must be 18 and under.
5. Pony must be atleast 4.
6. No linearts!! You can trace/reference but tracing is discouraged.
7. You don't need to draw a vet inspection/training image/arrival image unless you want too. It is not a requirement and will not get you more points, but it's nice to see!
8. You don't need to draw in the rider/handler but it counts as 'effort' if you do and will therefore get you less points than someone who DOES draw the rider/handler.

To pre-register, note me with this form filled out.

Classes

Hunter Under Saddle

Pony and rider are judged under a walk/trot/canter. Appearance and behaviour are a large factor in scoring. Close contact saddle/basic english bridle in any colour required. Beige, grey, or tan breeches with a show coat, show shirt, helmet, and tall boots. Gloves are recommended but not required. Pony's mane should be braided.

First
<a wytiwyg="1" href="accaliarose.deviantart.com/art…>Samwise the Brave ridden by Elliot Myers

Beginner Hunter Under Saddle

For in-experienced/young riders. Pony and rider are judged under a walk/trot and their appearance/behaviour is taken into account less as they're beginners. Close contact saddle/basic english bridle in any colour required. Beige, grey, or tan breeches with a show coat, show shirt, helmet and paddock boots. Gloves are recommended but not required. Pony's mane should be braided.

First
Strawberry Symphony ridden by Sophie Fields

Hunter Over Fences

Split into three divisions. Pony and rider are judged on their form, and how they maneouver the course. Pace must be controlled and time is not a factor when scoring. Close contact saddle/basic english bridle in any colour required. Beige, grey, or tan breeches with a show coat, show shirt, helmet, and tall boots. Protective vest is required. Gloves are recommended but not required. Pony's mane should be braided.
Small Pony OF
Jumps are 2'-2'3".
Medium Pony OF
Jumps are 2'3"-2'6"
Large Pony OF
Jumps are 2'6"-3'

Dressage

Split into two divisions. English saddle in black or dark brown(does not have to be strictly a dressage saddle) with a square pad in any colour. Basic english bridle in black or dark brown with a loose ring snaffle bit. Rider may wear white or tan breeches, white or other light-coloured show shirt under a dark colour show jacket. Tall boots and a helmet are required(younger riders may wear paddock boots). Gloves are recommended but not required, it is suggested long hair be pinned up but it is also not required. Pony's mane should be braided.

Introductory Level
Walk/Trot. To introduce the rider and/or pony to the sport of dressage. To show understanding of riding the pony forward with a steady tempo into an elastic contact with independent, steady hands and a correctly balanced seat. To show proper geometry of figures in the arena. Test.

First
Strawberry Symphony ridden by Sophie Fields

Training Level
Walk/Trot/Canter. To confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear and steady rhythm, accepting contact with the bit with correct bend (corners and circles). Test.

First
FH Zephyros ridden by Breanne Watson-Weisenberg

Cross Country

Rider and pony are judged on how quickly they complete the course without fault, form over the fences is not a huge impact on your score. Jumps are 2'3"-2'6". Close contact saddle and any type of english bridle required, any colour. Square or fitted pad in any colour, as well as protective boots. Rider must wear a protective vest, a helmet, and any style of boot. Long sleeved shirt and jacket are recommended as it will be chilly, gloves are optional.

Jumping

Jumps are 2'-2'6". Pony and rider are judged on how fast they can complete the course. Pace is a huge factor in your scoring, form is not as important as it is in Hunter OF.  Close contact saddle and any type of english bridle required, any colour. Square or fitted pad in any colour. Protective boots are optional. Rider must wear a protective vest, a light colour show shirt, a dark coloured show jacket, tall boots, and a helmet. Gloves are optional. Pony's mane should be braided.

First
HS Baywatch Baybe ridden by Henriette Skoglund
Second
Fluffy Little Monster ridden by Terran Wood

Halter

Pony is juged on his/her conformation. May be asked to walk/trot in-hand. Pony should wear either a plain, english bridle or a halter. Mane may be braided, but it is not required. Handler may wear whatever he or she wishes, however boots and helmet must be worn.

Gymkhana

Obstacle 1: Slalom, five bars, on horse: Lead the horse between the standing white bars (can be done in any pace).
Obstacle 2: Bucket Throw, on horse: You stand on the X (only on map, there is no X in "real life") and try to throw a bag of horse treats into the bucket (the O).
Obstacle 3: Potato-On-A-Spoon, on horse; You get a potato on a spoon and have to ride your horse from the first black line to the next as quickly as possible (can be done in any pace). If you lose the potato you must start over, if you lose it three times you continue.
Obstacle 4: Plank Walk, leading horse: You balance on a steady plank (about 10 cm/4 inches above the ground) while leading the horse.
MAP

The judge (Marie Williams, if you want to draw her somewhere in the image as well) will be standing in the middle of the arena and will help if anything happens.
You will not lose points or be penaltied if you draw your rider losing the potato or falling off the plank etc., it's completely okay!

Also, does it have to be coloured? I finished drawing my entry last night and would like to know if I had to colour it.

Also, what are the prizes for Show Jumping? I am entering with my pony named Fluffy Little Monster (Chance) and I would like to now what the prizes are and if we get a participation ribbon. Because that would look really good on his stub advertisement.

Just one more thing, I will donate a free covering with my stallion, also Fluffy Little Monster. [link]

Thanks for the help!

I'm considering entering this, I just wonder if you could answer a couple of questions for me?

1. With the braided manes; must they be traditional toggle plaits, or is a running braid permitted? Does the tail have to be plaited at all?
2. In the halter, can a bridle be worn with a leather and chain lead, or must the usual reins be attached?
3. In the jump class (not hunter) do we create the jumps ourselves or do you have templates? Would there be box oxers, traditional oxers, jokers or twister spreads there, or are the fences all straights, crosses and combinations?
4. My pony doesn't have an official ref image yet - could I sign up without it, or do you need a ref to register?

Thanks for any help :)

Any kind of braid you wish to use, the mane just shouldn't be left free. The tail, however, can be left free.
You can use a leather and chain lead.
You can design the jumps yourself ^^ I really don't have the time to design jumps for five classes, and the higher level of jumping you can do whatever combinations you like.
As long as you have somewhere with her information listed, then you can enter. There doesn't need to be a ref really, just somewhere with her stats/information posted.

No problem ^^

Awwhh, I have a couple ponys I could enter, but I guess I'm going to have to make a rider under the age of 18 huh?

Are foals allowed in the halter class if the handler bring another horse to ride?
If you would like some advice on what Gymkhana classes to have, I could help you, I show western ad speed with my real life horse.
I could donate a prize if you'd like. First place for one class can have a breeding to my stallion.

Thank you for the prize donation! Which class would you like to offer the breeding for?
